Sketchry vs Framer templates

A Framer template buys you a site you edit inside Framer and that Framer hosts, with pages, bandwidth and editors all counted by your plan. A Sketchry Skill writes a folder of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and where it lives and how it changes is up to you.

What Sketchry does not do

  • There is no visual editor. Changing the layout means going through the AI
  • No CMS, no built-in analytics, no A/B testing. You add those yourself
  • Hosting, the domain and bandwidth are your problem
  • You need to be using an AI coding tool already

Where Framer is limited

  • The site stays on the plan: pages, CMS items and bandwidth all have ceilings and cost more past them
  • The template is a separate purchase from the subscription
  • Every extra editor adds $20 a month

Who should pick which

  • Pick Framer if you want to move things with a mouse and never think about hosting or domains.
  • Pick Sketchry if you want the files, your own hosting, no monthly platform fee, and you already use an AI tool.

Using both, or switching

  • They split well: keep the main site in Framer, and build a campaign or one-off page with Sketchry onto any static host.
  • Leaving Framer means rebuilding the layout once: a Sketchry result is ordinary web files, so no export tool is involved.
