Microsoft-Decision-1 is a new model Microsoft introduced on October 9, 2026 for fast decision scoring. It targets routing, classification, prioritization, verification and workflow control, so developers can add decision intelligence to existing applications, agents and workflows.
Microsoft says the model delivers top performance in latency and quality on structured decision tasks and outperforms both general large language models and other decision models. Press coverage notes Microsoft calls it the most accurate model across 36 benchmarks it tested, a claim based on Microsoft's own evaluation.
Developers can start using Microsoft-Decision-1 today in the Microsoft Foundry model catalog or through OpenRouter. For agent systems that first need to decide which model or workflow should handle a request, it can serve as a lightweight routing layer in front of larger models.
