CATHODE DESK

STUDIO 1986 — PRESENT

A desk
that still
hums.

Scroll. The room comes to you, the tube warms up, and every project is a window on a 1986 desktop that never shipped.

01 — THE ROOM

Fourteen inches of warm glass.

Beige plastic, a yellowed bezel, a power lamp the colour of a cigarette end. Nothing here is flat: the shell is moulded, the glass bulges, the light falls off before it reaches the wall.

02 — POWER ON

Boot, then a desktop.

Memory counts up, the drive clears its throat, and the shell hands over to a desktop with three icons and a clock that is always a little wrong.

03 — WORK

Six windows, one screen.

The portfolio lives inside the tube. Windows stack, the cursor walks over and clicks, and the scanlines keep rolling through all of it.

04 — CASE

Open one up.

A case study is a window with a drawing in it: dithered gradients, a bar chart, a line of specification type across the bottom.

05 — ABOUT

Two people and a soldering iron.

We build interfaces that behave like objects: weight, friction, a sound when they land. The desk is the pitch.

06 — CONTACT

Leave a note on the desk.

Nothing is sent anywhere. This is a demonstration site and the form below only validates what you type.
